Master plan for electricity and water systems – United Arab Emirates
Sharjah, a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates, is faced with significant increases in its electricity consumption (10% per year) and a mounting need for water (rising by 6.5% per year).
Following an international competition, Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) awarded the contract for studying a master plan for the electricity and water distribution systems to a consortium headed up by Tractebel Engineering and SAFEGE (SUEZ Environment).
Tractebel Engineering will draw up the Master Plan for electricity, while SAFEGE will be responsible for the Master Plan for water. The study will begin in October and last 11 months.
