Owner's Engineer mission for the construction of Estreito hydro-power plant in Brazil
Leme, the Brazilian subsidiary of Tractebel Engineering, has been awarded the Owner's Engineer mission for the construction of Estreito (1087 MW) hydro-power plant on the river Tocantins in the State of Para - Brazil.
This project is the largest in Brazil at the moment. The energy generated at the Estreito HPP will improve the way of living of 7 to 8 million people, decreasing the risk of another energy crisis. Besides that, the population will benefit from the creation of a lot of new jobs, contributing to the regional development.
